What you need to know about Francetrek
In 2017 do you want to see the real Provence, in small private groups, eat locally, relaxed touring, flexible itinerary, visit our vineyards, olive farms, truffle farmers, herb experts.... then come to us at FRANCETREK.
We guarantee your minibus and walking holidays even if there are only 2 clients. Please note that we are limiting our holidays to the following for 2017... Secrets of Provence, Minibus Tour of the Best of Provence, Cycling in Provence and St Tropez Coastal Walks. New, however, are the Art courses at our new art centre in Vinsobres, in the home of Patrick Heffron and Jane Henriques. These include week-long courses run by visiting professional artists, notably, this September and next March, painter Ray Hedger. On a lighter note, Jane offers weeks of "Playing at Art" in her well equipped design and print studios. We now also offer a 'Seeing it like Van Gogh' week. No tutoring is offered and the aim is to allow artists and photographers the opportunity to immerse themselves in all that Van Gogh saw in Provence. We can also offer a week of art with Alexander Technique sessions incorporated. Full details are on the Art page, but do contact us if you have any questions.
FRANCETREK was established in 1991, when Patrick and Christiane, his late wife, bought a house in the village of Vinsobres in the Drome Provencal. The holidays offered have changed over the years and, since Christiane died in 2008, Patrick, with his companion Jane offer holidays based in their new home at the top of the village. The seasons start with spring blossom on the almond, cherry and apricot trees. Early summer is lavender time in many fields around the village, June and early July being the best period. We then have the lovely summer days with glorious evenings to dine on the terraces. The cooler months arrive with the grape-picking and then late September and October see the truly beautiful fall colours in the vines. Of course we have the scenery and the hilltop villages throughout the year.
We have moved to a delightful Centuries-old house high up in Vinsobres village. It has superb views, large bedrooms, old oak- beamed dining room, terraces, extensive library, internet access, garden terrace and indoor /outdoor heated large pool. Plus we are only 5 minutes' walk from the bistro, bakery and cafe. Bikes are available free of charge and there are delightful walks directly from the house through the village and into lavender fields and vineyards.
